Our thanks to our entire community for the success of our inaugural PINK OUT 5K.

When we heard the news that Susan G. Komen closed their doors in Arizona we felt it was our duty to step up and try to help fill the financial deficit for breast health resources. In forty days time our community rallied to help make it a giant success! We raised over $10,000 to pour into our local breast cancer community! Please read our detailed thanks for those in the community who supported our efforts and helped bring our inaugural race to fruition! See you at the 2nd Annual PINK OUT!

Steele Indian School Park graciously accepted our last minute application to the park. Generous sponsors signed on including: Gawley Plastic Surgery, MD Skin Lounge, Arizona Center for Reconstructive Breast Surgery, Arizona Oncology, Direct Source Distributing, Classy Sisters Wigs, Grand Canyon University, NextCare Urgent Care who provided our First Aid Station, Keith Woods who provided our videographer services in honor of his mother Joanne Atherton Woods, Curtis Gruninger who took over one thousand photographs at our event, Hickman’s Family Farms who served up free omelets all day, Safeway who provided water for our participants and volunteers, Planet Fitness who provided goodie bags, the Record Room pumped out the music, Energize by Exercise with Lauren warmed us up, and North Phoenix Baptist helped to promote! Local breast cancer non-profits and local vendors joined in to create our vendor village. Adv.fit routed our course and orchestrated the day. We had over 300 men, women and children sign up to walk, run or dance their way through the park including our largest team of 24 from Passport Health followed by Spinato’s, Lyft and more! Over 150 volunteers signed up to cheer our walkers on including NCL Scottsdale (our largest volunteer group!) NCL Moon Valley, high school cheer teams from Thunderbird Shadow Mountain, and Trevor Browne, College of Pharmacy Phi Delta Chi Professional Fraternity, and Omega Delta Phi. Our dutiful board went goes above and beyond including spouses! My awesome new staff – Laura Pentsa, Desire’e Hardge and Jolene LeFlore!

I’m not sure why I am surprised each time to see our community together to build up our community! Together we really do make a difference in the fight against breast cancer and so much more! My deepest thanks to each and every one of you!
