Gawley Gala raises $32,095!

This past weekend Dr. Gawley with Gawley Plastic Surgery and the MD Skin Lounge hosted his Annual Gawley Gala benefiting our non-profit, Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! If I could choose one word to describe this year’s event it would be exquisite! I looked up the definition of exquisite to ensure I was adequately describing his gala in the manner I wished. I’d like to share with you definitions I came upon and my references to Dr. Gawley. Please keep in mind when I mention Dr. Gawley I am also referencing his lovely wife, Dr. St. Peter, and his incredible staff. All are exquisite!

Exquisite = Carefully sought out, chosen, ascertained, devised.

In appreciation, Dr. Gawley treated his guests to the Toro Latin Restaurant and Rum Bar. The restaurant offered breathtaking views, seductive lighting to whisk us away from our daily duties, delightful drinks, and flavorful Latin tapas with live music to make us sway. The Gawley Gala is just one example of carefully chosen décor, kindness, staff, and generosity on his behalf to offer a beautiful experience to all of his clients and our non-profit. His gift of appreciation to all was exquisite!

Exquisite = Of special beauty or charm, or rare and appealing excellence

It’s easy to see Dr. Gawley exudes every word in this definition. One conversation with him and his beauty inside and out emerges. I have spoken to many of Dr. Gawley’s breast cancer reconstruction patients and they all describe his mannerisms the same; filled with charm, kindness, care, and reassurance. In addition, he is remarkably skilled and his talents provide women the priceless gift of restoring her femininity and normalcy during a terrifying time in her life. In addition, he works with patients outside of cancer to enhance our beauty with his expertise. This is just one of the many reasons I’m honored to work with Dr. Gawley – His practice is exquisite!

Exquisite = Of particular refinement or elegance, as taste, manners, etc., or persons.

Dr. Gawley is the epitome of elegance and manners. As a non-profit I have the opportunity to work with many companies, both locally and nationally. Some companies work with our non-profit with the expectation that our pink ribbon status will bring them customers and enhance their revenue, while other companies chose to work with us because they have a desire to give back. Dr. Gawley is most definitely of the latter. He asks of himself how he can better our community and one of the ways he choses is to assist, support and help raise funds our non-profit. He assists additional non-profits throughout the year with food drives and more – because he can. He once said to me regarding his assistance to our non-profit, “I do it, because it’s the right thing to do.” If only we all lived like this. His statement is exquisite!

Exquisite = extraordinarily fine or admirable; consummate:

It is a true honor to be the benefiting charity of Gawley Plastic Surgery and his MD Skin Lounge. Dr. Gawley possesses a strong character I most definitely admire and I’m proud to say he is our sponsor. As a breast cancer survivor and the CEO of our non-profit my goal has been to work with people of similar integrity, carry a joy for life, and to ensure we work with the best of the best in the breast cancer field to ensure women receive the finest possible treatment with kind and caring doctors. Dr. Gawley is the best! He is exquisite.

I am blessed beyond belief to have the support and guidance from Dr. Gawley. He has sponsored our non-profit in our infancy period and nurtured our non-profit to help us thrive. He leads our community and assembles his clients on our behalf throughout the year to help us grow and ensure our sustainability. He mentors us with his wealth of knowledge in the business and medical world to enable us to successfully make giants leaps. With his help our non-profit has grown from a simple call to action to perform breast self-exams and mammograms, to creating our wig program and sustaining one wig a day, to now expanding our free mammogram program. I wish I could take all of the credit for our seven-year success and the beautiful legacy our non-profit is leaving, but I cannot. I attribute a very large portion of our success to Dr. Gawley and to his clients for giving generously, giving unselfishly, and giving frequently. On behalf of myself, our board, our staff, and most importantly, the clients we assist you have our deepest gratitude that no words can even express.

Together we really do make a difference! With your philanthropic leadership the Gawley Gala raised $32, 095!!! You are a blessing to our non-profit, a blessing to the women we assist, a blessing to our community! You are exquisite!
