We are happy to share the news we learned that a Doctor's order is no longer required to receive a mammogram. Previously a women would have to receive an order for a mammogram from her ob/gyn or primary care physician. The reasoning behind it was to have a doctor following her care. This practice prevented many women from receiving a mammogram due to the additional time, travel and expense. The change in law will facilitate more timely mammograms and can help save lives.
