Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation donates $179,200!!!!

We are over the moon excited to announce that the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation has awarded Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! with a very generous gift to our programs that will help us make a difference in the fight against breast cancer!

We are happy to announce our grant commitments as follows:

Education Program $36,620

Wig Program $45,625

Mammogram Program $96,955

The Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation gifted Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! with a grant totaling $179,200!!! Let me shout that out once more $179,200!!!!

I’m struggling to find the proper words to express how deeply thankful we are to the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation for their generous gift to our community. Their generosity will allow us to sustain our invaluable education and wig program. In addition, they will allow us to develop our mammogram program well beyond hosting a few mammogram events. If you recall, Komen provided 50,000 free mammograms every year left Arizona in 2017. The gift from them will allow us to help fill in the giant gap for breast health resources in our community.

When we first formed Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! my initial thought was I would be grateful if we could save just ONE woman’s life through our reminders. We had no idea how far we would come. With that shared, you can imagine why I am filled with tears of joy, gratitude and humbled by the blessed gift from the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation

I am filled with joy because the generous gift will help save endless women’s lives, not just one, through our free mammogram program. I am filled with joy that we can empower and educate tens of thousands of women on the facts and help reduce the incidence of breast cancer through prevention and save lives through early detection. I am filled with joy that we can sustain our wig program and continue to provide breast cancer patients free wigs and the comfort and normalcy they deserve.

I am filled with gratitude to them for understanding the giant deficit of breast health resources in Arizona and for investing in our community through our non-profit to provide women the resources each one of us deserves. I am filled with gratitude for their philanthropic kindness to our entire community.

I am humbled to be entrusted by them with this sizable gift and be the steward of their generosity to our community. I am humbled to have their outstanding philanthropic foundation believe in our staff, our board, our mission and me.

Thank you Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation for making a difference in our breast community!!!!

I would like to add my thanks to our entire community, our board, our team, our sponsors, supporters for believing in me and our programs, to helping build us up and solidify our non-profit over the years. A special thanks to Desire’e Hardge, our VP of Development, who is committed to our mission and the whole health of our community and worked tirelessly this past year to bring in gifts such as this one. We are privileged to have you on our team!

Live and Give,

Holly Rose
